    About the role#

    The Quality Engineering Co-op supports the team in maintaining and improving product and process quality across manufacturing operations. This role provides hands-on experience in quality assurance, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams to contribute to initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

    What you'll do#

    • Support quality assurance by assisting in the development of quality control plans, inspection procedures, and monitoring processes.
    • Participate in audits and inspections of manufacturing processes and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Investigate customer-reported quality concerns using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA.
    • Support the tracking and verification of corrective and preventive actions to address root causes.
    • Collect and analyze quality data to identify trends and process deviations.
    • Apply statistical methods to evaluate process capability and product performance.
    • Document inspections, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
    • Prepare reports and quality metrics for internal reviews and customer communications.
    • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to reduce defects.
    • Participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
    • Support compliance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements and internal procedures.
    • Assist with internal and external audit preparations.
    • Attend training sessions and shadow experienced professionals to develop technical skills.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
    • Familiarity with quality tools, statistical analysis, Lean principles, or Six Sigma is preferred.
