    About the role#

    As an EHS Intern, you will support manufacturing operations at our facility by identifying workplace hazards and improving safety performance. You will work alongside Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to evaluate processes and implement projects that enhance safety, environmental impact, and efficiency. This role allows you to own projects from initial ideation through implementation, including cost reduction initiatives.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct safety audits, inspections, ergonomic evaluations, and risk assessments.
    • Partner with engineering and operations teams to mitigate risks and ensure parts are fabricated safely.
    • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
    • Resolve quality issues by identifying trends, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
    • Manage action plans for long-term projects and research cost-saving opportunities.
    • Participate in team-based problem solving and continuous improvement events.
    • Ensure compliance with standards including ISO 9001-2015, IATF 16949-2016, PED 2014/68/EU, API Spec. Q1, and API 6D.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field.
    • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
    • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
    • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing setting and communicate with employees at all levels.
    • Proficiency in data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
    • Understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.
    • Ability to interpret process and product specifications.
