    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship at Cowboy Space Corporation. You will join our avionics team to help build infrastructure for space-based solar energy. This role is on-site and follows a rolling application cycle.

    What you'll do#

    • Design, simulate, and test RF and optical communication systems.
    • Develop firmware and software for avionics, compute, and ground systems.
    • Troubleshoot, validate, and test hardware and subsystems.
    • Handle PCB layout, electrical design, and the integration of satellite components.
    • Perform data analysis, create CAD models, and manage technical documentation.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
    • Strong fundamentals in physics, math, or engineering.
    • Experience working hands-on in labs using test equipment.
    • A self-directed, collaborative work style.
    • Eligibility to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State for ITAR compliance.
