About the role#
This Co-Op position offers the opportunity to own a project focused on improving production loss in areas like cost, quality, and safety. You will work in a manufacturing environment, gaining practical experience by applying data analysis and problem-solving tools to drive results. The role covers various areas, including chemical processing, warehouse systems, material optimization, and high-speed filling technologies.
What you'll do#
- Apply process improvement tools, including statistical process control, process mapping, and Lean methodology.
- Analyze critical line data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and document processes, including process flow diagrams.
- Create standards and provide training for line technicians.
- Collaborate with departments like New Product Development, Packaging, and Engineering to ensure effective implementation of new products.
- Drive cost savings by improving productivity, material utilization, and labor optimization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. degree program in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or Data Science, with 1-2 years remaining until graduation.
- Analytical problem-solving and information-gathering skills.
- Working knowledge of statistics, including statistical process control and design of experiments.
- Familiarity with Lean tools such as poka yoke and value stream mapping.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint.
