About the role#
The Co-op Downtown Front End Service Manager oversees daily operations and staff at our downtown location. This full-time position focuses on maintaining efficient department workflows, high service standards, and a supportive work environment. You will work closely with store leadership to meet objectives for sales, labor, and service while ensuring the store remains a safe and welcoming space for customers and staff.
What you'll do#
- Manage Front End staff by providing direction, motivation, and consistent feedback.
- Coordinate scheduling and ensure adequate coverage, including filling shifts during emergencies.
- Oversee the implementation of staff training and development plans.
- Act as a cashier when needed while maintaining high service and accuracy standards.
- Ensure staff compliance with regulations regarding alcohol sales, SNAP benefits, and food safety.
- Monitor cash accuracy and coach staff on security procedures.
- Coordinate with the security team to maintain store safety and handle emergency situations.
- Supervise the cleaning and maintenance of shelves, coolers, and equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs for point-of-sale systems.
- Meet regularly with the Store Manager to review work plans and adjust staffing levels.
What you'll need#
- Proven experience in staff management and support.
- Ability to promote excellent customer service and operational accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory management and product rotation practices.
- Understanding of security protocols for buildings, inventory, and cash handling.
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and supportive workplace.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs.
