SBS Student Program Assistant (Federal Work Study)

About the role#

The Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Student Program Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the department. This position offers students the opportunity to develop professional skills in communication, organization, and higher education operations while contributing to the daily functioning of the office.

What you'll do#

• Provide administrative and operational support to the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department.
• Assist with communications between faculty and students.
• Organize departmental materials and manage day-to-day office tasks.
• Provide general clerical assistance and perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Federal Work Study eligibility as part of your current Financial Aid package with Columbus State.
• Enrollment in at least six credit hours in a degree or certificate program.
• A high school diploma, certificate of attendance, or certificate of high school equivalence.
• Reliable transportation to ensure regular attendance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, including Word, Docs, Excel, Sheets, Outlook, and Gmail.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professional communication skills.
• Note: Students enrolled as Transient, College Credit Plus, Undecided, or other non-degree-seeking programs are not eligible.

Location & details#

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (On-site only).
• Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
• Term: Rolling.
• Relevant Majors: Psychology, Sociology, Human Resources, Communications, and Business Administration.
