FWS Micro Intern (Event Planning & Support)

About the role#

The FWS Micro Intern (Event Planning & Support) is a short-term, project-based role within the Conference & Event Services department. This position supports the planning and execution of campus events scheduled for July through early August 2026. The project consists of 20 to 40 total hours of work, with a maximum of 20 hours per week, and carries no commitment to continue after project completion.

What you'll do#

• Assist with the development of event planning timelines and checklists.
• Coordinate event logistics, including space requirements and necessary materials.
• Promote upcoming events through the creation of flyers and email outreach.
• Provide hands-on support during event setup and breakdown.
• Track event attendance and collect participant feedback.
• Produce deliverables including a planning checklist, promotional materials, and a post-event summary report.

What you'll need#

• An accepted Federal Work Study award for the 2025-26 academic year.
• Enrollment in at least six credit hours in a degree or certificate program.
• Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to the campus.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include Business Administration, Marketing, Public Health, or Media Studies.

• Term: Summer 2026.
• Compensation: $17.50 per hour.
