Computer Lab Student Assistant (Federal Work Study Only)

About the role#

The IT Frontliners department is seeking a Computer Lab Student Assistant for the Summer 2026 term at the Delaware Campus. This role provides user support, maintains a clean workspace, and delivers customer service to students and visitors. You will assist with general lab operations, support students with college systems, and escalate complex technical issues to professional staff.

What you'll do#

• Greet students and visitors to the computer lab and provide excellent customer service.
• Assist students with printing documents and troubleshooting common print issues.
• Help students navigate college systems, including Blackboard, CougarWeb, email, and Microsoft programs.
• Maintain the lab environment by cleaning computers, monitors, and equipment, and managing the use of food and drinks.
• Circulate the lab to offer assistance and ensure lab policies are followed.
• Manage student seating and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive information.

What you'll need#

• Must have Federal Work Study as part of your current Financial Aid package.
• Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours in a degree or certificate program.
• Must have reliable transportation to the Delaware Campus.
• General knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office applications, and college systems.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and maintain a consistent, reliable schedule.
• Previous customer service or computer-related work experience is considered a plus.

Location & details#

• Location: Delaware, Ohio (On-site).
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm (maximum 20 hours per week).
• Compensation: $12.00 per hour.
