About the role#
As a Process Engineering Intern at CMC, you will gain hands-on experience within our Melt Shop. You will work on real-world projects that impact our steel manufacturing operations. This role focuses on developing your technical skills while you contribute to process, safety, and quality initiatives. You will work alongside our team to solve technical problems and support our daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Cross-train within the department to build skills in industrial and engineering technologies.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving projects that improve our processes, safety, or quality.
- Collaborate with the team on various process improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot technical obstacles using your engineering knowledge and communication with others.
- Present a final report on an improvement project at the end of your internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Junior or Senior level standing is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Auto CAD, and Solid Works.
- Ability to work in environments with extreme temperatures, loud noise, and confined spaces.
- Physical ability to lift up to 90 lbs and carry 50 lbs.
