About the role#
As a Process Control Engineering Intern, you will work on projects related to the rolling process. You will work alongside engineering and operational leaders to solve technical problems. This role involves close coordination with production departments and staff teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop software across various programming languages and hardware platforms.
- Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and automation systems.
- Modify automation systems to support new products and processes.
- Perform process modeling for chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical mill processes.
- Administer operating systems and relational databases on servers and workstations.
- Work with measurement systems including vision, thermal imaging, RFID, barcode, X-ray, and nuclear gauges.
- Manage networking technologies, high-speed data transmission, and specialty interfaces.
- Address production issues and system reliability concerns.
- Respond to routine and emergency requests.
- Coordinate with vendors, Research and Development, and other departments.
- Manage project, task, and priority lists while recommending system improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical degree.
- Completion of your sophomore year by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
