About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside engineering and operational leaders to solve real-world problems. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will assist with engineering duties under the guidance of supervisory personnel. Projects vary based on your education level and plant location.
What you'll do#
- Recommend or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance on equipment.
- Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, and repair machinery.
- Resolve equipment malfunctions, including during scheduled shutdowns or breakdowns.
- Participate in the planning, scheduling, and cost control of engineering projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
- Analyze current operating performance and procedures to make recommendations for improvement.
- Complete other projects as needed to support the business.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical degree.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
