About the role#
As a Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, you will work alongside engineering and operational leaders at our Cleveland Works facility. This role involves direct participation in the production environment, where you will contribute to real-world projects and gain experience in the steel manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Review production process data on a daily basis.
- Analyze the disposition of non-conforming products.
- Participate in quality improvement teams to address operational challenges.
- Conduct and analyze mill experiments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures to recommend improvements.
- Assist with various other projects as needed to support the business.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical degree.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
