About the role#
As an Environmental Engineering Intern, you will support our efforts to maintain environmental excellence. You will work alongside engineering and operational leaders to help ensure our facilities meet regulatory standards and improve our sustainability programs. This role provides hands-on experience in the steel industry and offers exposure to real-world environmental management.
What you'll do#
- Collect, manage, and report environmental data to support compliance with the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
- Assist with environmental investigations and special projects related to permit compliance.
- Support programs focused on energy efficiency, waste minimization, and GHG emissions reduction.
- Help maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
- Perform other tasks as required to support the environmental team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027.
- Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
