About the role#
Safety-Kleen Systems is looking for a Facility Engineer Intern to join our team in Kingsland, Georgia for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site internship where you will work alongside experienced professionals to support real projects. You will gain exposure to our operations while developing practical skills that support your academic and career goals.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize health and safety by following all safe work practices and policies.
- Help implement and maintain the Mechanical Integrity Program.
- Use modeling platforms to work on refinery equipment and operations models.
- Update and revise drawings using CAD software.
- Assist site engineers with project scoping and design for fixed and rotating equipment.
- Troubleshoot multi-disciplinary problems within refinery units.
- Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, including Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, incident investigations, and operating procedures.
- Take a proactive approach to learning and solving problems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for Chemical Engineering at an accredited university.
- A strong interest in the environmental services industry.
- Ability to work well within a professional team.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar technical tools.
- Proficiency in CAD or related software for engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of P&IDs and piping ISOs is preferred.
