The Denver Sheriff Department is offering a Master's level clinical internship within the Crisis Response Team for the Fall 2026 term. This program provides direct, practical experience working with individuals in custody within a correctional environment. Interns will observe and assist with daily clinical operations, including crisis intervention, mental health alert management, and support for special management units.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Crisis Response Team clinicians during initial clinical interviews and client evaluations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of coordinated treatment plans to address behavioral, medical, and psychological needs.
- Provide both individual and group intervention services.
- Participate in client staffings to develop treatment recommendations and assist with reentry and transition planning.
- Present case information to the multidisciplinary team using systems-based models.
- Engage in individual weekly supervision to support professional development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Master's degree program in Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- Completion of all prerequisite coursework required by your academic institution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.
- A specific interest in working within a corrections or jail-based facility.
