About the role#
This 10-week summer internship program places you within a host team in the Data and Analytics community at Citizens. You will contribute to ongoing business performance analysis, customer behavior research, and strategic insight generation. The program includes a cross-functional project where you collaborate with peers to experience the full project cycle, from identifying market opportunities to developing strategy-informing insights.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business data to find patterns in customer behavior and operational performance.
- Interpret findings to understand their real-world impact on customers and the bank.
- Measure the impact of new products and services after release by comparing actual performance to forecasts.
- Assist in developing insights that inform strategy and identify areas for improvement.
- Contribute to presentations for senior management and translate data into clear recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine questions and validate findings.
- Build and interpret dashboards and visualizations.
- Present your work and recommendations to peers and leaders during a final capstone presentation.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- You have an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028.
- You maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- You have experience working with raw and prepared datasets.
- You possess strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- You have introductory experience with programming or scripting languages like SQL, Python, or R.
- You are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- You have exposure to business data analysis techniques.
- You can thrive in a team environment and communicate clearly in writing and speech.
- You demonstrate resilience, drive, curiosity, and initiative.
- Familiarity with tools like Tableau, WebFocus, Amazon QuickSight, GBM, HEART, or cloud-based environments like AWS is a plus.
- You must successfully complete a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link to remain under consideration.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, on-site role for Summer 2027.
- Locations: Johnston, RI; Columbus, OH; or Boston, MA.
- This position is paid.
- Permanent work authorization in the United States is required. This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
