About the role#
The Business Insights Graduate Internship is a 10-week summer program at Citizens. Interns join the Data and Analytics community to support bank-wide initiatives. You will work with a host team on individual tasks while also collaborating with peers on a cross-functional project. This program provides exposure to business performance analysis, customer research, and strategic insight generation.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business data to uncover patterns in customer behavior and operational performance.
- Interpret findings to understand their real-world impact on customers and the business.
- Measure the impact of new products and services post-release and identify drivers of variance.
- Assist in developing insights that inform strategy and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute to presentations for senior management by translating data into strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine questions, validate findings, and ensure work is actionable.
- Contribute to the development and interpretation of dashboards and visualizations.
- Present findings and recommendations to peers and business leaders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in Business Analytics, Economics, Applied Statistics, Applied Math, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and Spring 2028 for master students, or concurrent enrollment in a PhD program.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Experience working with raw and prepared datasets.
- Introductory experience with programming or scripting languages such as SQL, Python, Pandas, or R.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Familiarity with tools like Tableau, WebFocus, or Amazon QuickSight.
- Exposure to cloud-based data environments such as AWS.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and written communication abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a team environment with initiative and resilience.
- Completion of a video interview assessment within 4 days of receiving the link.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- Locations include Columbus, OH, Johnston, RI, and Boston, MA.
- This position does not provide visa sponsorship.
