    About the role#

    The Optimization & Process Engineering department at CIBC consists of teams focused on Process Engineering, Intelligent Process Solutions, and End-to-End Optimization. These teams work to improve how products and services are delivered to our clients. As a co-op student, you will join one of these teams to conduct research, collect data, and help design or implement organizational improvements. Please note that while you may state a team preference, final placement is based on business needs.

    What you'll do#

    • Assess existing business processes to recommend improvements that reduce costs, lower error rates, and improve the client experience.
    • Document current processes and design future-state client journey flows.
    • Partner with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and support solution design.
    • Define project requirements and prepare summaries, including post-implementation reviews.
    • Conduct data collection, time studies, and analysis.
    • Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare recommendations and reports.

    What you'll need#

    • Currently in your third or fourth year of a STEM undergraduate program at a Canadian university.
    • Ability to commit to a 16-month co-op term.
    • Strong critical thinking skills and an eye for detail.
    • Ability to communicate complex information in an impactful way.
    • Digitally savvy with the ability to adapt to new tools and trends.

    • Location: Toronto, Ontario.
    • Work Modality: Hybrid (1-3 days per week on-site).
    • Employment Type: Full-time, paid 16-month co-op term.
