About the role#
As a Data Engineer Intern, you will join our Information Technology division for the summer of 2027. You will work with our Data Engineering team to build scalable and governed data products. This role offers the chance to collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and architects while gaining experience with modern tools and enterprise platforms. You will learn how data solutions move from initial business requirements into production environments.
What you'll do#
- Build, test, and maintain data pipelines, transformations, and analytics-ready datasets.
- Write SQL and Python solutions with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Work with technologies including Snowflake, dbt, AWS, and Microsoft tools.
- Support the development of data products for reporting, automation, and business decision-making.
- Participate in testing, documentation, version control, and CI/CD practices.
- Investigate data quality issues and pipeline failures.
- Apply enterprise data governance concepts like naming standards and access controls.
- Collaborate with technology partners and contribute to team problem-solving initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL or Python.
- Basic understanding of databases, data structures, and software development concepts.
- Coursework or project experience involving data pipelines, data modeling, or analytics.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with tools like Git, Azure DevOps, APIs, or Power BI.
- Experience through academic projects, student organizations, or previous internships.
- Interest in fields such as agriculture, energy, supply chain, logistics, or operations.

- This internship is located on-site in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
- This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
