About the role#
We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Information Technology division to help build scalable, governed data products. This role offers the chance to work with data engineers, scientists, and business stakeholders to turn requirements into production-ready solutions.
What you'll do#
- Partner with data engineers to understand business requirements and source systems.
- Build, test, and maintain data pipelines, models, and analytics datasets.
- Write SQL and Python code with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Gain experience with tools like Snowflake, dbt, AWS, and Microsoft technologies.
- Support the development of data products for reporting, automation, and business decisions.
- Participate in documentation, version control, and CI/CD practices.
- Investigate data quality issues and pipeline failures.
- Learn enterprise data governance concepts, including access controls and data quality standards.
- Collaborate across teams including DevOps, architecture, and analytics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL or Python through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Basic understanding of databases, data structures, and software development concepts.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Git, Azure DevOps, or Power BI.
- Interest in fields like agriculture, supply chain, logistics, or finance.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
