The Student Advocate collaborates with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify and address barriers to student success. This role focuses on providing guidance and resources to help students reach their full potential academically, emotionally, and socially, while maintaining an inclusive and nurturing school environment.
What you'll do#
- Communicate accurately and timely with students and families to maintain strong partnerships.
- Evaluate student progress by monitoring attendance, academic, and behavioral data.
- Coordinate with community partners to build and provide necessary resources for students.
- Facilitate social and emotional growth and implement proactive behavior strategies.
- Assist with student supervision during both instructional and non-instructional time.
- Conduct home visits and maintain accurate records of student information and contacts.
- Participate in stakeholder conferences to develop and implement student action plans.
- Support a positive school climate through restorative justice processes and consistent, fair practices.
What you'll need#
- Associate's degree (Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students and personnel in a diverse school community.
- Knowledge of and experience working with students from all backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a solid record of punctuality.
- Ability to perform moderate to extensive physical activity, including frequent standing and walking.
