About the role#
The Chicago Park District is hiring a seasonal intern for the Comptroller's Office. You will work under direct supervision to handle clerical tasks and support the daily operations of the department.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine data entry and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with payroll processing and audit payroll data.
- Prepare spreadsheets, invoices, and expense reports.
- Analyze financial data and help with general accounting tasks.
- Manage document filing systems.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and coordinate with other departments to collect payroll documents.
- Greet and direct visitors to the office.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or equivalent, with completed coursework in English, Spelling, Mathematics, and Typing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and organize records.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with park employees and the public.
- One year of experience in a business office performing typing and filing duties is preferred.
- Experience with word processing is preferred.
