About the role#
The Women's Institute Student Office Assistant supports the daily operations of the Institute while engaging the campus community in discussions regarding Women's Leadership and Gender Equity. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with faculty and staff to gain professional experience in event management, marketing, and office administration.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Director and staff with daily administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, and maintaining the resource center and conference room.
- Facilitate annual events, workshops, and information sessions by managing event logistics, promotion, and day-of operations.
- Collaborate with Humanities faculty to create and distribute content for social media and email newsletters.
- Build relationships with students and campus departments through outreach, classroom presentations, and partnerships with student organizations.
- Develop and implement creative advertising methods to promote Institute events.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
- Interest in developing professional goals and identifying measurable steps to achieve them.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, or Political Science.
