Interim Coordinator, Student Engagement and Leadership

About the role#

The Interim Coordinator for Student Engagement and Leadership provides short-term oversight and execution of initiatives that foster student engagement, support well-being, and promote engaged citizenship. This temporary, full-time role focuses on maintaining momentum for student leadership, success, and retention through the delivery of established student affairs programs.

What you'll do#

• Facilitate cross-divisional leadership initiatives, including student leader recruitment, selection, and training.
• Coordinate student engagement, team-building retreats, and leadership workshops.
• Manage the Graduate Student Assembly and co-facilitate service-learning and community engagement experiences.
• Support student organizations and assist in planning night and weekend programming.
• Contribute to the execution of campus-wide events, such as new student orientation and homecoming.
• Integrate emotional wellbeing and mental health awareness into student engagement programs.

What you'll need#

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience in residence life, student development, or campus activities.
• Strong organizational, oral, written, and online communication skills.
• High emotional intelligence, maturity, and the ability to work with a diverse student population.
• Sound judgment, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a commitment to the student affairs profession.
• A demonstrated commitment to equity, antiracism, and fostering inclusive communities.
• Proficiency in event planning, program oversight, and project management.

• Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
• Work Modality: On-site
• Compensation: $22.00 per hour (35-hour work week)
• Terms: Full-time, rolling
