Economics Consulting Analyst/Associate

About the role#

Charles River Associates is seeking an Economics Consulting Analyst/Associate for Summer 2027. This role involves working in a collaborative environment alongside PhD-trained economists, finance professionals, and valuation experts to provide economic and financial expertise for litigation and regulatory proceedings.

What you'll do#

• Conduct economic and industry research while analyzing client materials to build an understanding of case issues.
• Perform and develop financial and economic analyses or valuation models to support case theories.
• Program, build models, and perform regression analyses using tools such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS.
• Review and summarize analyst reports, academic literature, client documents, and industry trade press.
• Assist in the production and development of research summaries, expert reports, and the presentation of findings, including the creation of visuals like tables and charts.
• Ensure the reliability of analysis through rigorous quality control review.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidates graduating December 2026 or Summer 2027 with an academic focus on quantitative research, such as Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• Demonstrated understanding of economic, financial, and accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, or SAS.
• Completion of an honors thesis, research apprenticeship, or research seminar program is highly desired.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to bring creative approaches to non-standard problems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

• Modality: On-site (expected to be in the office 3 to 4 days per week).
