About the role#
This position is for a Summer 2027 internship within the Forensic Services/Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics practice. You will assist in security and privacy investigations, including data breaches and fraud, while working alongside experts to provide technical analysis for litigation and regulatory matters.
What you'll do#
- Conduct problem solving and forensic analysis of digital information using standard forensic tools.
- Defensibly collect digital evidence and maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation.
- Apply investigative techniques to determine the scope of system compromises, data theft, or litigation-related evidence.
- Leverage programming and database skills, including Python, T-SQL, VBA, and Excel, to support investigations.
- Communicate investigative findings to team members and clients, and assist in drafting technical reports.
- Develop new tools to support the evolving forensic landscape and stay updated on developments in e-discovery and incident response.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidate graduating in December 2026 or Summer 2027.
- Academic focus in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of computer operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Experience conducting digital forensic analyses using commercial or open-source tools.
- Solid understanding of evidence handling procedures and chain-of-custody.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with incident handling procedures, malware analysis, or common attack techniques is preferred.
