About the role#
This paid internship offers college students exposure to the financial industry within a registered investment advisory. You will work alongside a team to gain practical experience in wealth management and financial planning. The program is designed for students seeking to build skills through hands-on training and direct interaction with senior leadership.
What you'll do#
- Shadow Financial Advisors during client presentations and assist in preparing performance reports and financial documents.
- Perform research on stocks, bonds, and securities using tools like Bloomberg, YCharts, HiddenLevers, and Riskalyze.
- Use CRM and financial planning software to support client accounts.
- Participate in and present at Investment Committee and portfolio subcommittee meetings.
- Learn about portfolio optimization, rebalancing, and backtesting.
- Assist with account linkups and portfolio maintenance using back-end management software.
- Conduct independent research and build spreadsheets for financial planning opportunities.
- Collaborate with a team to complete a financial planning project.
- Work toward obtaining an e-Money Certification.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited university with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
- A major in Finance, Accounting, Financial Planning, or a related business field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Active participation in campus organizations, ideally in a leadership role, or relevant professional work experience.
