WBAL-TV 11, the NBC affiliate in Baltimore, offers a 12-week paid internship program designed to provide hands-on professional experience. This position reports directly to the Public Affairs Director and involves a mix of group video conferences and individual in-person shadowing.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the internship program through a combination of remote video sessions and in-person shadowing.
- Gain practical experience within a professional television newsroom environment.
- Report to the Public Affairs Director.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Classroom experience in broadcast journalism and preferably some knowledge of a television newsroom.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment, resourcefulness, and confidence with a professional attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland (On-site attendance required).
- Term: Summer 2026 (May 21, 2026, to August 13, 2026).
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
- Benefits: One hour of sick and safe leave for every 30 hours worked.
