About the role#
The Audit & Assurance Intern role involves supporting the team through financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance services. Interns work with entrepreneurial clients across various industries, focusing on executing work plans and mastering fundamental accounting concepts.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff and seniors with the preparation and documentation of engagement workpapers according to firm and industry standards.
- Identify and communicate potential areas of risk to the engagement team.
- Complete assigned engagement sections within established budget parameters.
- Address review notes in a timely manner and stay current with accounting standards.
- Provide training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a senior or manager.
- Work directly with clients as needed, including travel to client locations.
- Adhere to information security policies to protect sensitive data.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to think critically, resolve challenges independently, and adapt to a wide variety of projects.
- An inquisitive mindset and a proactive approach to improvement.
