Tax Intern | Spring 2027

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time internship for the Spring 2027 term. You will work on-site in Rochester, Michigan, gaining exposure to tax assignments across diverse industries including Real Estate, Construction, Healthcare, and Manufacturing.

What you'll do#

• Assist in the planning and execution of tax assignments from start to finish.
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C corporations, and S corporations.
• Build tax compliance knowledge by assisting with IRS audits, tax notice responses, trust returns, and gift and estate returns.
• Cultivate professional relationships with client staff to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction.
• Maintain strict standards regarding client confidentiality and professional conduct.

What you'll need#

• Currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. A Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of an organization.
• Ability to multitask, think independently, and solve problems within a team environment.
• Strong analytical, research, and project management skills.
• Active participation in student organizations or prior work experience in accounting is a plus.
