Forensic Accounting and Litigation Intern | Fall 2026

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in forensic accounting and litigation support. You will work alongside senior team members to assist with complex financial analyses, document reconciliation, and tax return reviews. This role is designed for students pursuing a degree in accounting who are interested in applying audit methodologies and accounting frameworks within a litigation environment.

What you'll do#

• Review and summarize federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations, and individuals.
• Support preliminary valuation, forensic, and appraisal analyses, including data input for expert witness exhibits.
• Assist the discovery team by inventorying and reconciling documents and data for submission to courts, attorneys, and clients.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with client staff to support service delivery and goal alignment.
• Gain practical exposure to accounting frameworks, tax law, and audit methodologies.
• Maintain high standards of professional conduct and client confidentiality.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Accounting, with plans to achieve CPA eligibility.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, research, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the judgment to seek assistance when needed.
• Relevant academic or work experience in accounting, auditing, or investigative services is preferred.
