About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Tax Intern position for the Summer 2026 term. This role is based on-site in Cumberland, Maryland, and is open to students pursuing degrees in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning tax assignments across various industries including real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations, and individuals.
- Support tax compliance efforts, including assistance with IRS audits and tax notice responses.
- Participate in client assignments from start to finish.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with client staff to ensure high levels of service and responsiveness.
- Uphold professional standards regarding client confidentiality and personal conduct.
What you'll need#
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree (a Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred).
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, research, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit software.
- Capability to multi-task and solve problems within a team-oriented environment.
- Active participation in student organizations or prior work experience in accounting is a plus.
