About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Actuarial Internship for Summer 2026. You will work with the CBIZ Optumas team, which provides strategy and guidance to state Medicaid agencies and managed care plans. This role offers the potential for a direct hire into a full-time position upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team on client conference calls and participate in on-the-job training.
- Perform and review healthcare data analysis using Excel.
- Analyze, manipulate, and summarize large healthcare datasets using statistical software such as SAS, WPS, Access, or SPSS.
- Present analyses internally and communicate findings to the team.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously to ensure all deadlines are met.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance, statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
- Exposure to data analytical programming languages including SAS, SQL, WPS, or Python.
- A plan to pursue or successful completion of actuarial exams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
