About the role#
The Associate Campus Minister serves the St. John Catholic Student Center at Michigan State University. This full-time, on-site role focuses on supporting undergraduate students through spiritual guidance and leadership development. You will work closely with the Director of Campus Ministry to implement strategic goals and maintain a presence within the campus community.
What you'll do#
- Discern, form, and accompany student leaders for Bible studies and evangelization efforts.
- Plan and facilitate monthly Upper Room gatherings for student leaders.
- Collaborate with the student outreach team to set goals for our campus ministry presence.
- Provide spiritual guidance and formation opportunities to undergraduate students.
- Assist with the planning and facilitation of retreats, including the IGNITE new student retreat.
- Maintain visibility at campus and parish events.
What you'll need#
- A Master of Arts in Catholic Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field.
- Status as a practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church.
- A working knowledge of theological concepts and spiritual life development.
- Familiarity with campus ministry, catechetical processes, and resources.
- Strong skills in communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and one-on-one pastoral care.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holy days to meet student availability.
- Experience managing program logistics, including timelines, budgets, and volunteer recruitment.
