About the role#
Automated Logic, a business within Carrier, is hiring a Field Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time position supports our building automation systems and energy solutions. You will work on-site to assist with technical projects, system commissioning, and customer support.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the startup, commission, and re-commission of customer systems.
- Perform daily job database backups and track project progress.
- Help calibrate systems using electronic test equipment, including multi-meters and network terminals.
- Assist with the setup of operator workstations and software programming.
- Maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages.
- Complete required paperwork, including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Communicate project status to lead personnel.
- Assist with the final turnover of systems to service teams.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, Biomedical, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability by the company carrier.
- Ability to travel more than 50% of the work week.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and use lift equipment or climb ladders over 8 feet high.
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Basic understanding of control logic is preferred.
- Prior experience in HVAC or Building Automation and knowledge of DDC control theory are helpful.
