Research and Development Summer Intern, Polyol Applications

About the role#

Carpenter Co. offers an 11-week, full-time Research and Development summer internship at the Reinhart Technical Center in Richmond, Virginia. This program begins on May 26, 2026. Interns will work under the guidance of a senior mentor to evaluate, refine, and standardize laboratory quality test procedures.

What you'll do#

• Perform basic lab experiments as outlined by a supervisor.
• Collect, record, and report experimental data.
• Interpret data and draw conclusions based on findings.
• Document all results in a formal report format.

What you'll need#

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of at least two years of university studies in Chemistry with a minimum 2.75 GPA.
• Completion of at least two semesters of college laboratory coursework.
• Ability to perform rudimentary chemical lab experiments under management and safety direction.
• Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
