The College of Engineering is seeking a graduate intern to work with the Community Engagement team. This role focuses on coordinating programming and activities that contribute to community building within the college. You will report to the Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Outreach and support the work of the College-wide Community Engagement Committee.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate and implement an intergroup dialogue program course for graduate students.
- Manage logistics for the PITA Fellowship, including faculty and student recruitment, application review, faculty–student matching, stakeholder communication, and ongoing student support.
- Coordinate professional development programming for graduate students, such as writing sessions.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Community Engagement and Outreach to support departmental goals.
- Assist in developing and implementing student-focused programming.
- Act as a representative of the office to engineering students.
- Track student interactions and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience or knowledge in developing programming that promotes an inclusive culture.
- Collaborative professional experience working in an academic or student services environment on a college campus.
- Prior experience as a student leader or as a professional supporting student leaders is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 15–20 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend availability expected.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
