About the role#
The Leasing Community Intern role is a temporary, paid position for Summer 2026. This role focuses on supporting community operations, maintaining high occupancy levels, and delivering quality customer service to residents and prospective clients. Interns are expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Serve as a customer service ambassador to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Manage administrative front desk tasks and maintain accurate lease file documentation in accordance with company policy.
- Complete lease applications and related paperwork.
- Participate in required Cardinal U and Cardinal Way of Leasing training, including passing third-party leasing shops.
- Assist with planning community events and various community projects.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
- Handle on-call responsibilities such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program (Business Administration, Real Estate, Marketing, or Communications preferred) with at least 6 credit hours and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Completion of at least one year of college or university coursework.
- Must be a current or future leaseholder at the community and reside on the assigned floor.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and reaching across the property in various weather conditions.
