About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a representative for the community, focusing on resident retention and leasing current or future apartment availability. This position requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. You will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, and participate in on-call duties such as lock-outs and property rounds.
What you'll do#
- Act as an ambassador for customer service by ensuring resident and prospect satisfaction.
- Manage administrative front desk tasks and maintain accurate lease file documentation.
- Complete lease applications and participate in lease file audits.
- Greet prospective clients, answer leasing calls, and conduct tours of the community.
- Utilize feature and benefit selling techniques to close leases.
- Stay informed on market conditions and trends by shopping competition and attending company training.
- Assist with the planning and execution of community events.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year at an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
- Status as a current or future leaseholder of the community.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions.
- Preferred fields of study include Real Estate, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or Psychology.
