Leasing Community Intern

About the role#

The Leasing Community Intern serves as a key representative of the property, focusing on customer service and supporting community operations. This role is designed to help maintain high occupancy levels through resident retention, leasing current availability, and pre-leasing future units. Interns work on-site and are expected to collaborate effectively with the team to ensure a positive experience for residents and prospective clients.

What you'll do#

• Act as a customer service ambassador by addressing resident needs and maintaining a welcoming environment.
• Manage administrative front desk tasks and ensure all lease applications and paperwork are completed accurately.
• Maintain organized lease file documentation and participate in regular file audits.
• Support the leasing process by answering calls, conducting property tours, and closing sales.
• Assist with planning and executing community events.
• Participate in required training programs, including Cardinal U and the Cardinal Way of Leasing.
• Perform community duties such as nightly rounds or assisting with lock-outs as part of on-call responsibilities.

What you'll need#

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university, with at least one year completed.
• A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and access all areas of the property, including outdoor spaces.
• Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Real Estate, Marketing, Communications, or Human Resources.

Location & details#

• Location: Gainesville, Florida.
• Work Modality: On-site.
• Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Compensation: Paid position with bonus eligibility.
