About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will support our team in maintaining occupancy through resident retention and leasing efforts. You will serve as an ambassador for customer service, ensuring that residents and prospective clients have a positive experience. This role requires you to live on-site at the community and participate in regular training programs to build your skills in sales and property operations.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer incoming leasing calls.
- Determine client needs and preferences to present apartment homes effectively.
- Manage the full leasing process, including applications, file paperwork, and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate lease documentation and participate in file audits.
- Keep the tour path clean and welcoming for visitors.
- Assist in planning community events and other property projects.
- Perform on-call duties, such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Complete required training, including the Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U programs.
- Handle administrative front desk tasks.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Status as a current or future leaseholder at the community.
- Ability to live on a designated floor as assigned by the Community Manager.
- Valid driver license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform tasks in various weather conditions.

Location & details#
- Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position with bonus eligibility.
