Leasing Community Intern

About the role#

The Leasing Community Intern role is a temporary, part-time position focused on supporting property operations and resident satisfaction. Interns work to achieve occupancy goals through resident retention, leasing current availability, and pre-leasing future units. This role requires on-site work, including evenings and weekends, and involves active participation in company-specific leasing training and community events.

What you'll do#

• Serve as a customer service ambassador by addressing the needs of residents and prospective clients.
• Manage administrative front desk tasks and complete all lease applications and file paperwork.
• Maintain accurate lease documentation and assist with file audits.
• Conduct property tours and maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
• Participate in the Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training, including passing third-party leasing shops and achieving certification.
• Assist with community events and various property projects as assigned.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor with team members, residents, and vendors.
• Handle on-call responsibilities, such as lock-outs and nightly rounds.

What you'll need#

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in a degree program at an accredited college or university (minimum 6 credit hours).
• Completion of at least one year of college and a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder at the assigned community and reside on the designated floor.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and physically access all interior and exterior areas of the property.
• Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred majors include Business Administration, Marketing, or Real Estate.
