About the role#
This is a full-time paid internship program with KippsDeSanto & Co., a subsidiary of Capital One, focusing on mergers and acquisitions advisory within the Aerospace, Defense, Government, and Technology sectors. The program lasts ten weeks from June through August 2027. Summer Associates perform critical functions throughout the transaction process, from preparing clients for market and engaging buyers to facilitating due diligence and closing deals. You will gain technical expertise and professional development while taking on responsibility in transaction execution, client management, and business development.
What you'll do#
- Create client marketing presentations, memoranda, and other materials.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of investment banking products and services.
- Conduct industry and market research.
- Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of valuation models.
- Help develop and cultivate relationships with clients, prospects, and professional advisors.
- Assist in the management and mentoring of Analysts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a 2-year MBA, with expected graduation by July 2028 or earlier.
- Must continue in the same course of study following the internship.
- Prior experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, Consulting, Private Equity, or Transaction Advisory.
- Financial modeling experience, including DCF and LBO valuations.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, written, and oral presentation skills.
- Knowledge of general accounting and finance principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently.
- A strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person per export control regulations.
Location & details#
- Location: McLean, Virginia.
- This role is on-site. You must be located in the continental United States and attend in person for the duration of the program.
