About the role#
Join us for a 12-week, full-time summer applied research experience. You will work on high-impact research to integrate AI developments into next-generation customer experiences. This program is designed for PhD students who want to apply theory to large-scale, real-world problems. You will participate in networking sessions, technical deep dives, and executive speaker sessions to support your professional development.
What you'll do#
- Partner with a cross-functional team of applied researchers, data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to design and test AI-powered products.
- Use a broad stack of technologies to reveal insights from large volumes of numeric and textual data.
- Translate complex technical work into tangible business goals.
- Contribute to academic publications in the field of AI.
- Engage in research that informs how customers interact with their money.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited PhD program, with the first year of coursework completed by June 2027.
- A focus in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Programming experience, specifically with Python.
- Experience with at least one deep learning framework, such as PyTorch.
- Research focus in areas such as Foundation Models, LLMs, Reinforcement Learning, Causal Inference, User Behavior Modeling, Model Inference Optimization, Interpretability, Recommendation Systems, Uncertainty Estimation, or Agentic Systems.
- A record of publications in leading conferences like ICLR, NeurIPs, ICML, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, KDD, or CVPR.
- Preference is given to those who have completed their second or third year of PhD studies.
