About the role#
This is a full-time student position with the Upgrading and Utilities Engineering Team. You will support Turnaround Planning activities at the Horizon Oil Sands site. This role involves managing data through various technical tools to improve project workflows.
What you'll do#
- Assist the engineering team with Turnaround Planning support.
- Learn and apply Turnaround Scope Management processes.
- Build forms, queries, reports, and macros using MS Access.
- Organize, analyze, and visualize data using MS Excel.
- Perform Extract, Transform, Load processing using Power Query.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to document processes and improve database efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Strong programming fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of SQL for writing and troubleshooting queries.
- Logical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new tools and environments quickly.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta (Horizon Oil Sands Site).
- Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off (Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day).
- Terms: Winter 2027 (January) or Summer 2027 (May) start dates.
- Duration: 8 or 16 months.
- This is a paid, on-site, safety-sensitive position.
