About the role#
This summer internship offers students the chance to work with the Office Services team at our Horizon Oil Sands site. You will gain practical experience by supporting administrative functions across several departments. This role is designed to help you build professional skills while working alongside experienced staff.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to staff, contractors, and vendors in person, by phone, and via email.
- Manage the collection and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain inventory for office supplies, stationery, and refreshments.
- Create reports and manage spreadsheets to keep data accurate.
- Draft and distribute internal communications like memorandums and posters.
- Assist with vacation coverage, event support, and general administrative tasks.
- Help maintain an organized and tidy workspace.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree or diploma program in Business Management, Business/Office Administration, or an equivalent field.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience or familiarity with office supply management.
- A commitment to providing helpful customer service.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta at the Horizon Oil Sands site.
- Term: Summer 2027, starting in May.
- Duration: 4 or 8 months.
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
- Company-sponsored fly-in/fly-out travel is available from Calgary or Edmonton.
