About the role#
As the Strategy & Operations Co-op, you will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer across finance, strategy, technology, and business operations. This role focuses on the core functions that determine the speed and effectiveness of the engineering team. You will build systems and models that are used to drive company decisions.
What you'll do#
- Support the development of the enterprise financial model and run the financial planning and analysis cycle, including budget versus actual analysis and forecast updates.
- Size the addressable market and build revenue and capture models.
- Support proposals, grant submissions, and go-to-market strategy.
- Build build-versus-buy analyses and product lifecycle techno-economic models.
- Deploy AI-native business processes and design agentic workflows to improve team effectiveness.
- Manage programs and projects for commercial initiatives and establish business rhythms and procurement processes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate co-op or internship program in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- Completion of at least one prior internship or co-op work term.
- Fluency in economic and financial modeling principles using Excel or code-based models.
- Working understanding of data structures and database architectures.
- Proficiency with AI tools to redesign workflows.
- Ability to work with rigour and accuracy in an environment where established processes may not yet exist.
- Eligibility for security assessment under Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The position requires working from the office five days per week.
- Placements are available for four, eight, or twelve-month terms on a rolling basis.
