About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the Cal Poly Pomona student farm. You will perform general labor tasks necessary for the production and maintenance of crops. This is a part-time, seasonal role.
What you'll do#
- Assist with field preparation, including transplanting, thinning, and hoeing.
- Install, maintain, and remove drip tape irrigation.
- Help with harvesting and packing produce.
- Keep the work environment clean and organized.
- Follow all food and worker safety policies.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, such as heat, cold, or wind.
- Follow directions from your supervisor and maintain a consistent schedule.
What you'll need#
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Capacity to lift 25lbs.
- Willingness to work outside in agricultural settings.
- A dependable work ethic and self-motivation.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Previous farm or field experience is preferred but not required.
