About the role#
As a Claims Intern, you will learn how adjusters guide customers through the claims process. You will gain firsthand exposure to how claims fit into the insurance cycle and how adjusters measure success through customer outcomes and departmental metrics. This is a paid, full-time summer internship for 2027.
What you'll do#
- Complete a self-study course to obtain an adjuster license before the internship begins.
- Participate in a one-week orientation.
- Shadow adjuster workflows and engage in training.
- Build relationships with peers, leaders, and a dedicated intern buddy.
- Attend professional development workshops and leadership roundtables.
- Take part in volunteer opportunities.
- Present to executives at a capstone event.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Risk Management Insurance.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Desire to work for an NC-based regional carrier after graduation.
- Demonstrable leadership experience from school, work, or extracurriculars.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High-level analytical capability and the ability to work well in a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software and tools quickly.
Location & details#
- The role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
- You must be willing to live or commute to Raleigh during the internship.
- This is a hybrid position, requiring three days onsite per week.
- The internship runs for 10 weeks, from May 17 to July 23, 2027.
