About the role#
Brown & Brown is looking for an intern to join our team in Orlando. This program offers students a chance to gain real-world experience and learn about the insurance industry. We aim to identify candidates who may eventually qualify for full-time roles within the organization, with a specific focus on future sales talent.
What you'll do#
- Learn the basics of Excess and Surplus Lines Wholesale Insurance.
- Shadow underwriters as they review new business and renewal accounts.
- Get introduced to commercial lines underwriting and our partner carriers.
- Use PIPS and other internal software programs.
- Learn standard file documentation and routine file setup procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university degree program.
- An interest in risk management and insurance.
- A sales and production driven mentality.
- Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- A commitment to customer service and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain confidentiality.
- Exceptional telephone communication skills.
